Score! Hero is one of the most downloaded football games on Android: over 100 million downloads, a 4.5-star rating from more than 7.9 million ratings, and made by First Touch Games — the same studio behind Dream League Soccer. It first came out in 2015 and has been rebuilt since.
We make Toy Soccer Cup, a free table-football game with 3D toy footballers. So this is not a neutral review, and we will not pretend it is. What we can promise is that every fact about Score! Hero here comes from its own Google Play listing, linked at the end — and that we will say plainly what it does well.
The two games answer different questions. Score! Hero asks: can you solve this move? Each level is a hand-made situation — a pass to find, a shot to curl — and you draw the path. Toy Soccer Cup asks: can you win this match? You flick all seven of your players, the ball bounces where physics sends it, and the other team answers every move.

Credit where it is due. Score! Hero turned one of football's best moments — the split second before a perfect pass — into a puzzle anyone can pick up. Its listing promises "hundreds and hundreds of levels, each one an individually crafted soccer scenario", and that craft shows: every level is a small story with a right answer.
It also looks the part, with motion-captured animations from a studio that has been making football games for years. Seven million ratings do not happen by accident.
A match, not a scene. In Score! Hero the level decides who has the ball, where the defenders stand and what the goal looks like. In Toy Soccer Cup nothing is scripted: the opponent moves its players, rebounds change everything and the same situation never happens twice. Three minutes, seven players each, and every flick is yours.
Your own football world. Instead of a career of levels, you get 57 national leagues with 858 original clubs, each league with its own cup, plus a Weekly Cup of 32 players that starts from scratch every Monday and crowns a champion on Sunday — past winners are in the Hall of Fame.
Tricks you learn, not tricks you are given. The curl that Score! Hero draws for you is something you learn to do yourself in our School of Tricks: The Curve, The Chip, The Sweet Spot, The Rocket and The Bank Shot, with the same physics as a real match. It works because the flick itself is real — we wrote about the physics behind it.
One of the most common Google searches around this game is "score hero unlimited money and life". People type that when they are stuck and do not want to pay to get unstuck.
Toy Soccer Cup is built so you never end up there: there are no lives or energy to wait for — play as many matches as you like — and coins cannot be bought, only earned by playing. There is exactly one purchase, in the Android app, and it only removes the ads. Nothing random is ever sold for money.
Score! Hero's own listing says it contains third-party ads and in-app purchases that include random items. That is its model; ours is the other one.
Yes. Toy Soccer Cup plays full three-minute matches with seven players a side, against the computer, a friend on the same device or players online — instead of individual levels.

Yes. It shows ads — at most one full-screen ad every two minutes, never before your first match — and on Android a single optional purchase removes them.
